Hi, I'm LeAnn Siekman, the 8th grade Science Teacher at DC West Middle School. This is my 15th year teaching middle school science at DC West. Middle school has always been my favorite!
My husband, Darren, and I have been married for 35 years. We have two children, Allison and Grant who are both married. Allison has a Ph.D. in biochemistry and Grant is an actuary. Our grandson, Nathan, will be two in February, and our granddaughter, Lena, will turn one in November! My husband and I have two Shetland Sheepdogs, Husker and Baxter. One of our favorite things to do is to take school groups to Washington DC. We have now taken 19 groups of kids from Waterloo and DC West.
In addition to teaching science, I have spent a lot of time working on state science assessments. It has really helped me to better understand the expectations of Nebraska State Science and I have met some wonderful science teachers from across the state!
